ISec & HelpAge India partner to help elders live active & healthy lives

Mumbai/Gurdaspur, October 6, 2020 - Marking the 'International Day of Older Persons' on October 1st, ICICI Securities & HelpAge India have launched a unique active ageing initiative at the Gurdaspur Old Age Home for senior citizens in Punjab, aimed at physical and mental wellbeing of the elder residents.

ICICI Securities has partnered with HelpAge India to introduce the concept of active ageing to ensure the holistic wellness of senior citizens. Under this CSR initiative, the company has supported the development of an outdoor activity area, an elder gym, walking track and a flourishing vegetable herb garden at the Gurdaspur centre. Residents can now take part in various outdoor activities and keep fit and agile.

"ICICI Securities has been championing the cause of senior citizens and believes in making a difference in their lives. A significant part of our CSR resources are invested towards their well-being. We are happy to have played a role, in association with our partner HelpAge India, towards their physical and mental well-being by setting up an activity area, which has been very thoughtfully designed by keeping the needs and abilities of senior citizens. The support from ICICI Securities towards setting up active ageing opportunities for elders at our old age home in Gurdaspur has come as a blessing. The partners will be setting up similar activity centre at at Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. The partners are also actively engaged in setting up and running a model old age home in Leh.
