ICICI Group commits Rs 100 crore to fight COVID-19 pandemic.
April 15, 2020
ICICI Group has committed Rs. 100 crore to support the nation in its fight against
the COVID-19 outbreak. Of this, the Group will contribute Rs 80 crore towards the
PM CARES fund and Rs. 20 crore to various state governments and local authorities
in their efforts to battle the pandemic.
ICICI Securities (I-Sec) is a proud contributory to the Group's efforts. I-Sec
has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur as a 'Technology
Development Partner', in their efforts to develop an indigenized, high-end yet
affordable invasive ventilator. Under this fast tracked project, by mid-May 2020,
the product is expected to be ready for market. A few prototype units have already
been deployed and their performance is being monitored. We are hopeful that the
project will meet the expectations of price and functionality as envisaged.
I-Sec has also provided protective equipment like sanitisers and N-95 masks to Mumbai
Police and Maharashtra Police. This is our humble way to salute the heroic efforts
of the people, who are at the forefront of this challenge.
