India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and has progressed in various sectors, including defense initiatives to adapt to the global standards. Along with the procurement of latest equipment, the other major area is the recruitment and development of its field force.
Similarly, the Police departments across the country are also ensuring a well-trained force at the ground level.
The junior ranking officials of these forces are committed to 24 X 7 duties to protect our country and its citizens. Due to the nature of their duties, managing their finances and keeping themselves updated on the latest financial acumen is low in their priority lists.
ICICI Securities (the "Company") identified this gap and took it upon themselves to serve these personnel who serve our nation selflessly.
As a part of the CSR initiative, in 2017, the Company launched "Mission Samruddhi", focused on spreading financial literacy amongst the junior ranking personnel in the defense and allied uniform services. Helping them in understanding basics of personal finance and planning was the first step toward their financial freedom.
As a part of this initiative, the Company reached out to nearly 35,000 service personnel between 2017 and 2019. Some of the establishments are:
- Indian Navy - INS Angre, INS Hamla, INS Tanaji, Coast Guard Goa HQ, Naval Southern Command HQ Kochi
- Indian Army - BSF Units across Delhi & Kolkata, Rajputana Rifles Delhi, Jalandhar Cantt, AFMC Pune, and other units across Pune & Bhopal.
- Indian Police Force - SRPF Pune, CISF units across Hyderabad, Kolkata & Surat, Wireless Police Pune, City Police across Hyderabad, Aurangabad, Kolkata, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, TN armed police forces Coimbatore, RPF Mumbai and Valsad, DRPF Aurangabad & Nandurbar, Police Training Schools across Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain.
We had partnered with NISM for this CSR initiative to help us in imparting financial knowledge.
